The Slovak government will introduce financial literacy education as part of the History and Mathematics subjects. In History lessons, the students will learn how money is created, while Mathematics should focus on interest on loans (source: www.pienaze.pravda.sk)

There is currently in the Slovak Republic a new legislation under preparation that will establish from 2010 the single responsible body for financial education, to be called the Academy for Financial Education. It will be launched equally by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education as well as the National Bank of Slovakia.

The Institute of Banking Education of the National Bank of Slovakia (NBS):
It is an independent non-profit organization supported of the NBS which accommodates the educational needs of the NBS, commercial banks and other financial institutions as well as to ensure the realization of educational activities for the general public aiming at financial literacy expansion.
